By Paul Hinkle Red Caboose 2014 Fall Car Show With the success of their first car show in June, the owners of the Red Caboose held a fall show on October 25th. This fall show also proved to be a success as many of the rodders returned to show their support. This fall event benefited the Laton Lions Club. Once again, cars from all over the valley started gathering in the parking lot, hoping to pick out their favorite spot. After staging their cars, many headed inside for a great breakfast, one of the best in the central valley. After breakfast the owners pulled out the chairs, sat near their cars and were glad to answer any questions you may have had. The cars at this event tend to be daily drivers that have been very well maintained, showing the commitment by the owners to rodding. EVENT WINNERS: Best of show – David Valla 1966 GTO, Peoples Choice Award – Andy Anderson 1957 Chevy, All Street Rods – Val Szot 1936 Ford Sedan, All 1957 Chevy – Bob Jones 1955 150 Chevy, Muscle Cars – David Valla 1966 GTO, Pick-ups Thru 1973 – Tom Johnson 1951 Chevy, Original Stock Cars – Ron Bergland 1970 Pontiac, All Others – Richard Calzada 1956 Ford, Sports Cars – Vern Norton 1970 Jag XKE. 13th Annual Immanuel Lutheran Church Car/Motorcycle Show Thirteen years ago Andrew Severin and his wife, while youth directors at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Easton, decided to hold a car show to raise funds for the youth group. The car show continued to grow each year and eventually moved from the church parking lot to the lot across the street in front of Washington Union High School to accommodate the amount of cars that participate. This year on Oct. 11th they held their 13th Annual Immanuel Lutheran Church Car and Motorcycle Show. Don’t miss next year’s show, I will post the date when it available. Event Winners: Pastor’s Award – Lee Picchi 1950 Mercury, Peoples Choice Car – Loretta & Jerry Baxter 1956 Chevy Pick-up, Peoples Choice Bike – Mark & Mary Hardin 1956 Harley Davidson Pan Head.
